Donated Fundraiser Graphics
Designing for Real Heroes Need Masks during the pandemic showed me how creativity can mobilize communities and drive real impact.
During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals across the U.S. faced a critical shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). Real Heroes Need Masks emerged as a grassroots organization dedicated to collecting and distributing PPE to frontline healthcare workers in urgent need.
In support of their life-saving mission, I donated my creative services—design, animation, and marketing—to help amplify their message and expand their reach during a critical time.
My Contribution
As part of the organization’s rapid-response team, I focused on creating clear, engaging, and emotionally impactful content to inspire public support and donations:
Brand & Graphic Design: Developed visually cohesive assets to unify the brand across web, social media, and print.
Custom Animation: Created short animated content for social media that explained the organization’s mission, how to donate PPE, and how to get involved—making a complex, urgent topic accessible and shareable.
Social Media Marketing: Supported campaign messaging and visuals that highlighted the heroes on the frontlines and encouraged action across multiple digital platforms.
Impact
Helped increase awareness of the organization during a crucial window of need
Boosted engagement and visibility through clear, compelling visuals and motion design
Supported the overall effort that facilitated thousands of PPE donations to under-resourced hospitals
Reflection
Working with Real Heroes Need Masks during the height of the pandemic was a humbling and purpose-driven experience. Donating my skills to a cause greater than myself reinforced the power of design to mobilize communities, foster solidarity, and support real-world impact—especially in times of crisis.
