Bethesda Fitness Week

Bethesda Fitness Week was envisioned as a city-wide celebration of health and wellness, uniting local boutique fitness studios in a spirit of collaboration over competition. Backed by the Bethesda Chamber of Commerce, the initiative aimed to promote community engagement and support the local wellness economy through a week of accessible classes, events, and experiences.

My Contribution

As Brand Director and Marketing Lead, I was responsible for creating and managing all facets of the event’s identity and communications, including:

• Brand Identity: Developed the visual branding, including logo, color palette, typography, and promotional graphics that conveyed energy, unity, and wellness.

• Website Design & Launch: Directed the design and structure of the official event website, ensuring it was user-friendly, informative, and visually aligned with the brand.

• Marketing & Communications: Crafted all marketing copy, email campaigns, and social media content. Worked closely with studio owners and the Chamber to align messaging and build excitement leading up to the event.

• Event Planning Support: Coordinated studio involvement, managed registration workflows, and contributed to the event’s promotional timeline and logistics.

Impact

Although the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project stands as a testament to what a united community can achieve. It also demonstrated my ability to lead cross-organization collaboration, design a cohesive brand from scratch, and build a digital presence that supports both marketing and community goals.

Reflection

This experience reinforced the power of shared values in branding and community outreach. I’m proud of the creative direction and strategic planning that went into Bethesda Fitness Week—and how it showcased collaboration at its core.
